Cinderella at the Weymouth Pavillion Review

Cinderella is everything a traditional panto should be with bucket loads of humour, audience participation, outrageous costumes, singing, dancing and 3 men in frocks!

Weymouth Panto Cinderella 5

We all know the story of Cinderella, and the beautiful Lexi Pilgrim plays her incredibly well.  She has a stunning voice and you genuinely want to see her have her happy ever after.  Buttons is fabulous as always and although he doesn’t get the girl he does delight everyone each time he comes on stage with his pure silliness and hilarious gags.

Whoever was in charge of costumes excelled themselves this year as there was countless pretty sparkly dresses and of course the Fairy Godmother and Ugly Sisters had some crazy over the top outfits too.  The scene with the Prima Ballerinas was just hilarious, they really are very brave men!

Cinderella’s Wicked Stepmother does everything she can to make sure it’s her daughters that charm the Prince but of course the Fairy Godmother is there to ensure Cinderella makes it to the Royal Ball in style.

Weymouth Panto Cinderella 4

There’s some great special effects as always and we enjoyed watching the pumpkin carriage getting bigger and bigger and there’s even a flying Fairy Godmother too!

Children in the audience will be invited up on stage but you can also expect to get out of your seat for some dance routines.  My son gets embarrassed easily now and firmly stayed sunk down in his chair while Mummy had a boogie with everyone else in the audience.

Cinderella has everything for the young and old to enjoy and the whole cast really did do a wonderful performance - it’s a feel good show which I thoroughly recommend.

Cinderella is running in Weymouth until 4 January 2020.  For more information and tickets, please visit the Weymouth Pavilion.

My husband & I went to see the show yesterday (28-12-2019), it was my husband's first ever panto, we had a blast ..that whole show was perfection, I find it hard to pick out any part that was more outstanding than the others, I can not remember the last time I had so much fun, both my husband & I enjoyed ourselves immensely, Thank you so much to the cast for giving us a wonderful & funny memory to hold onto , we will be back to see the adult version in my book your all stars.
