Purbeck School Science Fair 2025
Posted on
British Science Week is a celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths and this year we went to The Purbeck School for their Science Fair.
I honestly wasn’t expecting to see as much as we did and in hindsight I wished we’d got there earlier. Saying that, we still spent a good couple of hours exploring and were one of the last people to leave!
Entry was free however there was a small charge for the Science Dome which I was happy to book for later in the afternoon.
Each room had numerous hands-on activities and exhibits and if one area was busy, we just moved onto the next and came back.
My daughter was in heaven taking part in fun science experiments, especially the messy activities with oobleck and pond water, plus observing the staff performing different chemical reactions.

By the time our Science Dome session came round, I was grateful for a sit down and we enjoyed our 360 degree short film.
While we were there we saw stands from The Etches Collection, The Institute of Physics, Defence Battlelab, local Universities, Dorset Wildlife Trust, Urban Heath Partnership, The Tank Museum, National Trust, Stem Ambassador, Wessex Water, and much more.
This was such a wonderful community event which I would recommend to everyone. I must say a huge thank you to all of the staff, volunteers and students, we had such a fantastic afternoon and we look forward to attending again in the future.
