SHILLINGSTONE STATION GALA WEEKEND

Info: The weekend celebrates all that’s been achieved since the station ‘closed’ in 1966, and remember the incredible efforts of the volunteers. As well as tours of the station and the signal box there will be guided walks of the new track extension. There’ll be a couple of model railway layouts, and the station will be welcoming displays by the Big Yellow Bus Project, the Countryside Regeneration Trust, the North Dorset Trailway and the Blandford Fashion Museum, along with other heritage railway projects, the Spetisbury Station Project and the Somerset and Dorset Railway Trust.

WEYMOUTH ARMED FORCES WEEKEND

Info: The popular event starts on Friday with the return of the Armour and Embarkation convoy, with a display on the promenade from 7pm to 9pm. On Saturday, you can expect to see a display and convoy of historic military vehicles along the promenade and enjoy music and entertainment throughout the day. The Armed Forces and Veterans Service will take place along the seafront on Sunday, followed by a parade along the seafront featuring marching bands and military vehicles. There will then be further entertainment and a display of historic vehicles on the Pavilion Forecourt throughout the afternoon.
